The Dragon's Cave
A poignant testimony of the lives of soldiers from 1914-1918
Fifteen minutes from the Sollier house, the Dragon's Cave is a former stone quarry that became an underground barracks during the Great War.
In 1915, it was converted by German troops. The French recaptured it in June 1917, but did not remain the sole occupants for long. Separated inside by walls, the two camps coexisted there.
It features numerous galleries, a chapel, first aid and command posts which bear moving witness to the lives of French and German soldiers.
An emotional visit!
